One possible effect of modern emotional labor

In our parents generation, they were willing to sacrifice personal lives for more money and a better job. That is they were willing to take transfers and lead a long distance relationship with the spouses and kids. But millennials don’t want to do this. Here’s one possible why.
Our parents’ work nature was repetitive and more industrial. Being apart from families may affect them emotionally and psychologically but that doesn’t affect their performance at work since repetitive tasks become second nature over time.
However, in the case of millennials, any emotional or psychological trauma can impact their performance at work since the nature of work involves using people’s knowledge, and higher faculties of brains.
