Things that are worth pursuing are difficult

Here are two things that are abundant, according to me, in the world we live today – instant gratification and distraction. Since abundance and scarcity are two sides of the same coin, the above statement infers that there is a shortage of delayed gratification and focus. The virtue that is common between these scarce resources is willpower and self-control to make this happen. It’s difficult to maintain our willpower to say ‘no’ to things in the world of abundance. Therefore, it’s worth cultivating self-control. We must intentionally seek the rare stuff out to thrive at least until they become common and abundant enough.
